Head & Neck Imaging in Neuroradiology
The Department of Neuroradiology at Zurich University Hospital covers the entire spectrum of diagnostic imaging procedures for diseases of the skull base and the ear, nose, and throat area. Our institute's highly specialized experts work with state-of-the-art imaging systems in computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and digital subtraction angiography. We further offer intraoperative MRI-imaging.
In addition to standard examinations, the clinic also performs specialized examinations, such as MR-imaging of hydrops, MR sialography, dynamic MRI of the temporomandibular joints, high-resolution imaging of the cranial nerves and perfusion scans.
We closely collaborate with the clinics for ORL (ear, nose, and throat medicine) and OMS (oral and maxillofacial surgery) as well as oncologists and radiation therapists. In weekly interdisciplinary sessions, we discuss the clinical pictures in order to decide on the optimal course of treatment for each patient. At our highly specialized center, we further offer endovascular treatment of tumors, either as a stand-alone treatment or prior to surgery to reduce operative risks. Our clinic has decades of experience in this field and our deep expertise is world-renowned.
